Thirsk Probus Club...

Thirsk Probus Club for Ladies gained an insight into the colourful lives enjoyed by members of the Mitford Family at their January meeting last week.

The central themes were alcoholism, gambling and adultery with forays into German ideals in the 1930s.

There was no expectation for girls to be educated and the illustrated talk, delivered by Joanne Aston, could be summarized as 'careers in delinquency'!
